About

Hello, my name is Renato Vargas. Join me, as I explore the different stages involved in the creation of short animated clips. I love telling stories, and I want to do it through illustration and animation. I’m by no means an expert, so the things I show you here are more or less new to me, but I have a lot of fun sharing them with other newbies and insightful professionals.

One of the reasons why I’m writing this blog is so that others may learn from my mistakes and find it easier to start an animation hobby or, who knows, a career.

I’ll be posting screenshots of my workflow, mainly with Toon Boom Software, and how I solve specific problems I encounter while working on the different scenes.

When I started with this hobby there were a lot of questions in my mind. Over these couple of years, they have been answered more or less by great guys like Jerry Keslensky, many others, and trial and error. Now I want to give back to the community of aspiring animators and share the few things I’ve picked up. I hope you find it interesting and useful. I’m looking forward to your comments.

If you want to keep an eye on this blog you might consider adding my RSS feed to your reader or subscribing to get every new post by e-mail (sidebar, top right).
